Fees, contracts and processes are based upon the specific organization the dog is being fostered for. Normal fees range in price $180 to $300.
Dogs fostered through Border Collie Rescue of Northern California need a approved application. If you would like to expedite the process, submit the application to BCRNC then send me an email with a forwarded copy of the application with the dogs name in the subject line.
Typically the fee is $200 to $300 to adopt through BCRNC. Border Collies adopted through NCBCR have a 2 week trial period and can be returned for any reason during that time for a full refund. For unaltered puppies there is an additional $100 deposit which will be refunded when proof of alteration is given to the BCRNC.
Dogs fostered through the BCRNC are normally pulled directly from the Shelter or transfered to me from the central California Foster coordinator. When I pull for BCRNC, I normally pull from the Merced Animal Control shelter, unless I am made aware of another urgent dog available in another shelter. If you need help rehomeing your Border Collie, Border Collie Rescue of Northern California has a page here.
Meeting times can be arranged Saturday - Monday, Dogs are fostered in Stockton, Ca. I can also travel up to 3 hours in all directions. I service Northern and Central California; San Joaquin County, Stanislaus County, Sacramento County, Contra Costa County, Alameda County, San Francisco and Marin County. I'll let you know how much the adoption fee will be before the meeting.
Once you contact me about a foster, feel free to join the mailing list that corrosponds to the dog you are interested in.If I do not have the perfect dog for you now, your best bet is paitience and joining my general announcment mailing list. I generally send out an announcment 2 days after new dogs come into my home approximatly a week and a half before they are posted to any other web sites. As a result of the announcement mailing list and this web site, I have had dogs reserved within 3 days of coming out of the shelter. If you work with a shelter and would like to be notified of foster openings, you can join "shelter updates".
Monetary donations can be made directly to Border Collie Rescue of Northern California or Stockton Animal Shelter Friends. Border Collie Rescue of Northern California is also looking for donations of supplies (crates, exercise pens and medications) to replace the supplies lost in a fire.
There are a few items I normally burn through the fastest and could always use more of. If you are able to help out, drop me an email for a shipping address.
